You defeat the rebellion and Laryssa is concerned that the uprising is due to a shadowy cult. There you meet your sorcerer childhood friend Laryssa (sp?) who is also the niece of the commonwealth emperor. You are sent north to quell an uprising near Frostling lands. You believe that the commonwealth truly stands for equality for all, and that science and industrialization will fix all the worlds problems. You play as Edward Portsmith, a dreadnaught hero who believes in the commonwealth (which is actually quite corrupt, and the principles it was founded on are lost in favour of pro-human and anti-nonhuman agendas). There is an uneasy peace between the two empires. They were originally split because of their views on humanity, which overthrew their old empire in the valley of wonders.
